The Luke Roux Foundation supported two Safe Grad/Project Graduation events at local high schools. These all-night, drug- and alcohol-free events provide a safe place for graduates to celebrate with their classmates on graduation night.
Each member of the graduating class of Northwest Catholic and Farmington High School received a ride share gift card with the purpose of:

Carri shares the heartbreaking story of losing her son Luke to a drunk driver. Through her powerful message, she hopes to leave a lasting impact on students, urging them to always make responsible choices and to never drive impaired. Her story is a poignant reminder of the real and devastating consequences of impaired driving, emphasizing the importance of safety and responsibility.

The Luke Roux Scholarship Award
This award honors the memory of Luke by supporting a graduating Farmington High School senior who embodies Luke’s kindness and perseverance, in the classroom and athletics.
Sam was selected by the Farmington High School Awards Committee for being a caring and diligent student-athlete (represents fairness, sincerity, and commitment to their chosen sport) pursuing further education.
The student need not be an obvious leader but rather a quiet and impactful student-athlete as described below:
Foundation Scholarship: Creating a Safe Future
This scholarship not only stands as a tribute to Luke's memory but also as an opportunity for young minds to contribute ideas and strategies to combat the persisting issue of intoxicated driving.
Caleb was chosen by the Luke Roux Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee after a thorough evaluation of all the applications that addressed the following question:
"Why do you think individuals drink and drive despite its well-known dangers and consequences? What actions can a young adult, like yourself, take to influence peers and adults to make smart choices to not drive impaired? "
Since 1984, parents of Farmington High School seniors have organized an all-night, drug and alcohol-free event for FHS seniors called Project Graduation. This tradition provides a safe place for graduates to celebrate with classmates on graduation night with professional entertainers, fun activities, games, contests, lots of food and tons of amazing prizes and gifts – it is HOURS of great fun and memories.
Each member of the graduating class of 2023 received a Uber gift card with the message:
The Luke Roux Memorial Fund's mission is to spread awareness about the risks of impaired driving and to encourage others to be proactive with a driving plan when going out with friends.

The Ben Lovett Educational Fund allows Mothers Against Drunk Driving to provide educational programming at schools and for community organizations around the state of Connecticut free of charge. The Lovett Fund is earmarked for the program, Power of You(th), to be presented in schools and community organizations statewide. The program examines the effects of underage drinking.
One such example is a high school "decision making" assembly focusing on the temptations of teens to make poor decisions regarding substance abuse and driving. Such programs may also include speakers who are victims of drunk driving collisions. Click here for flyer with additional information.
