Since 1984, parents of Farmington High School seniors have organized an all-night, drug and alcohol-free event for FHS seniors called Project Graduation. This tradition provides a safe place for graduates to celebrate with classmates on graduation night with professional entertainers, fun activities, games, contests, lots of food and tons of amazing prizes and gifts – it is HOURS of great fun and memories.
Each member of the graduating class of 2023 received a $25 Uber gift card with the message:
The Luke Roux Memorial Fund's mission is to spread awareness about the risks of impaired driving and to encourage others to be proactive with a driving plan when going out with friends.
If you Drink, Don' t Drive. Decide to Ride.
The Ben Lovett Educational Fund allows Mothers Against Drunk Driving to provide educational programming at schools and for community organizations around the state of Connecticut free of charge. The Lovett Fund is earmarked for the program, Power of You(th), to be presented in schools and community organizations statewide. The program examines the effects of underage drinking.
One such example is a High School "decision making" assembly focusing on the temptations of teens to make poor decisions regarding substance abuse and driving. Such programs may also include speakers who are victims of drunk driving collisions. Click here for flyer with additional information.
The Luke Roux Scholarship Award of $500 honors the memory of Luke by supporting a graduating Farmington High School senior who embodies Luke’s kindness and perseverance, in the classroom and athletics.
The recipient is a caring and diligent student-athlete (represents fairness, sincerity, and commitment to their chosen sport) pursuing further education.
The student need not be an obvious leader but rather a quiet and impactful student-athlete as described below:
Sponsoring the general fund, supporting youth baseball in town.
The Luke Roux Memorial Hockey Award of $500 honors the memory of Luke by supporting a Farmington Valley Generals high school hockey player who has shown unselfish dedication, unquestionable character and a passion for the game of ice hockey.
The Farmington Community Chest is a local nonprofit group that helps organize community service events and fund service projects across Farmington.
